Environmental & Sustainability Commitment
In today’s global context, where sustainability is increasingly a priority, Ikigai Desk Legal Lab has chosen to integrate environmental and social responsibility principles into its operational strategy and client services.
This focus is not only an ethical choice but also a strategic necessity, particularly in light of one of our flagship 2025–2026 projects: providing legal and strategic assistance to an international fund dedicated to the management and monetisation of CO₂ certificates, specifically Carbon Tokens and CO₂ NFTs.
Working alongside this initiative has allowed us to gain high-level expertise both in contractual matters related to environmental tokenisation and in analysing European and international case law on cryptocurrencies and digital instruments linked to sustainability.
We provide specialised support for both mandatory and voluntary certifications, with a particular focus on CDR (Carbon Dioxide Removal Certificates), where we are among the first law firms in Europe to advise leading entities engaged in the sustainable management of forests and woodland assets. Our experience extends beyond Europe, reaching an international level of expertise.
Even though it is not a requirement for our firm, we have chosen to purchase CO₂ credits to offset part of our own emissions from day-to-day activities — from computer use to digital communications — adopting a practical and measurable approach to sustainability.
